I'm a registered professional engineer who happens to have a passion for old trucks
and the icons of trucking from the 70's that influenced me.   I have over 10 years of
experience in civil and traffic engineering, having worked myself into a niche that
includes commercial vehicle technologies, commercial vehicle enforcement and
teaching and managing quick clearance of highway crashes.

My interest in trucks emerged early, and was heavily influenced by the movies
Convoy, Duel, Smokey and the Bandit and High Ballin'.  When I was 5, my dad and I
took a long walk through our subdivision and came across a sparking 1976 Peterbilt
359 and its owner, Ken Morrow.  Ken and I have become the best of friends since
that day, and his influence on me over the past 28 years with respect to
responsibility and morality is second only to my wonderful parents.  Ken continues to
operate his beautiful 1976 Peterbilt and remains a unheralded icon of everything
that is great about people, the trucking industry and this country.

My dad always told me to save my money and buy a real truck instead of always
buying toy trucks.  In early 1993, I took his advice (to his surprise and dismay) and
bought my first truck, a 1973 Peterbilt 358.  My friend Ken hauled it home for me,
and after helping him rebuild his Peterbilt 359 in 1988, he helped me rebuild my
Peterbilt 358 in the summer of 1993.  I would be remiss, however, if I failed to
mention the hundreds of hours of time that my friends Chris, Dave, Ernie and Matt
also contributed to he effort.  It would be several years later before I realized the
magnitude of their contribution, and I never will be able to repay them what they
did.

In the summer of 1994, I started driving tractor trailers for Terry, a good friend that I
met through Ken early on.  Terry owned a potato packing plant and ran his own
small fleet of trucks to deliver to (UGH!) grocery warehouses.  I spent 3 years driving
for Terry to pay for college.  Unfortunately, I didn't learn my lesson.

In 2001, I ventured into the trucking industry as a small business owner.  Ultimately,
the hard work and financial burden became too much in combination with my full
time career.  Although the business closed at the end of 2006, I was fortunate
enough to work with and serve a number of great people and companies, but I did
also get to see the ugly side of business and the scum that mask themselves as
friends.  One only needs to own their own business to truly appreciate a that there is
a special place in heaven for the friends that help without asking for anything in
return and a very special place in hell for those that betray.

In 2004, I dipped into my personal savings and started assembling the components
to build a full-scale working replica of the Rubber Duck's RS700L from Convoy.  In
late 2005, I acquired the survingin Petriblt and tanker from Duel.  I hope you enjoy
the website and my trucks.  I am always happy to hear from fellow fans!
